Introduction To The Open Book Café

Good afternoon, and welcome to The Open Book Café: Finding Yourself.

Although at times we may feel like we are losing ground and losing our place in this world, know that there is hope. Facing and accepting our faults and our dark side, helps us gain insight on how we can achieve the inner work. Any outer work begins with the inner work.

After that, we can begin to loosen our emotional attachments to the past, in order to progress.

'Not until we are lost do we begin to understand ourselves.'- Henry David Thoreau

But we are never truly lost.

I agree with George Bernard Shaw:

'Life is about creating yourself.' ― George Bernard Shaw

And we are creators.

Our power is in being aware of this moment right now.

Awareness

'Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.' - C.G. Jung

'The outer world is a reflection of the inner world. Other people’s perception of you is a reflection of them; your response to them is an awareness of you.'

- Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart

Striking a balance...

'The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.'

- Mahatma Gandhi

'Your own Self-Realization is the greatest service you can render the world.' - Ramana Maharshi

'We shall not cease from exploration

And the end of all our exploring

Will be to arrive where we started

And know the place for the first time.'

- T. S. Eliot
